Centro de Artes Visuales Fundación Helga de Alvear

Introduction

Since 1997, the quality and increasing size of the Helga de Alvear Art Collection has come to the attention of a number of institutions who have organized temporary exhibitions of the works of art featured in it. The concepts behind these works of art and their range is as broad and varied as the venues that have exhibited them, and they reflect the wealth of possibilities for distinct working approaches that the Collection inspires. Since the Visual Arts Centre Helga de Alvear Foundation Cáceres opened, the organization of temporary exhibitions based on different aspects of the Collection has become one of the key activities around which the Centre’s work revolves. Nonetheless, the presentation of the Collection in other national and international art centres is still regarded as a priority and as a basis for the educational and communication operations that guide the Centre’s work.

Since the opening of the Visual Arts Center Cáceres Helga de Alvear Foundation, the organization of exhibitions based on different aspects of the collection is one of the axes around which articulated the Center's activities. However, the presentation remains a priority of the collection in other national and international art centers, as the basis for training and dissemination function that guides the activity center.

Because paperis somewhat fragile, on the point of slipping away. There is something of a love letter, those that are blown away and reach their recipients like the kisses, as mentioned by Kafka in Letters to Milena, that are drunk by the ghosts of dawn.
