WORKSHOPS

Learning while playing, experimenting, creating, building and communicating is probably the most effective, enjoyable and natural way to gain knowledge. This is what the Center offers concentrated school groups through this program. The workshops are preceded by the analysis of the work of art that we will focus on, which introduce aspects that children will start to develop and understand while doing the workshops.

  • The Return to School with Thomas Demand, from the collection Ghost, Photocopy Shop and Batteries
  • We make an original projection, from the work Travellers I, by Francis Alys. Specially adapted for people from 13-18 years old.
  • Create your imaginary city, of the work Landscapes with Houses, by James Casebere
  • How is your library?  from the work Billi Bookshelves by Ikea (The Artist’s Library), by Hans-Peter Feldmann

Duration: 1:30-2 hours

Recipients: students from 3 to 12 years old.

Hours: Tuesday to Friday in the morning, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

SCAVENGER HUNT

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Starting time for groups: 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm.

Recipients: students from 4 to 12 years of age.

CONTINUOUS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Art education does not end with the occasional visit to the Center and needs to be continued so that the art can transform into an everyday part of the children´s lives. Because of this, we have created this new educational route. It consists of scheduling three annual visits to the Center with complementary activities during each of the years that covers a full cycle. Each cycle includes children´s education, primary school, ESO, and Baccalaureates. Through this program we will not only explore specific educational objectives, we will also explore aspects related to art, the museum as an institution, and help children become interested in the world of art and culture. For this we will select five groups that belong to educational institutions in the Community of Extremadura, preferably in the first year of one of the cycles previously mentioned.

In order to prevent the build-up of last minute crowds, you can now ask for the date and time of visits on the phone at 927 626414 or by e-mail at general@fundacionhelgadealvear.es. If you are interested in the Continuous Education Programs, please contact us through the information previously provided.

If you are an English professor, we have a special offer for you. Take advantage of this opportunity!

GUIDED TOURS IN ENGLISH

We will offer guided tours specifically in English through the exposition of contemporary photography The Tears of Things. This is a limited time offer that will allow you to experience the exhibit in another language.

WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH

By using different fun and engaging methods we aim to teach young children English while they are creating and making art of their own. This workshop will not only teach children basic concepts in English, it will also teach them to express themselves in a creative and productive way while learning about different materials and methods used in modern art. Our goal is to teach children to see and to think about the world around them and teaching them how to appreciate its beauty.

Duration: 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes

Recipients: primary school students

Hours: Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 am and Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
